Mrs. Farber's Kindergarten class
The Kindergarten students are learning about the country of Japan. They are busy learning a ribbon dance to "Oshugatsu" (A Japanese New Year) for the Christmas concert. Although I cannot write down all the moves here, the children may remember several of the moves themselves and would enjoy moving to the music. I have added a link to a similar version on Youtube here for their enjoyment:) (it's a different singer, but the melody and words are the same)
Costume: Anything "Japanese" looking in style and colour. If you cannot find anything similar in style, red and white will work. Try not to wear black (blue jeans would be preferable to black pants) as black is an unlucky colour in Japan. Boys could wear solid coloured clothing with a somewhat loose/oversize shirt. Girls could wear a nice dress or outfit with floral or solid colour print. If possible, a large width sash/scarf could go around their waist.
