Week 4! : This week, you get to make up your OWN composition! No rules this time - just create, play around with Instrumentation, listen, fix it up until you like it, then send it to me!
Have fun! The Link!!: https://musiclab.chromeexperiments.com/Song-Maker/ Week 3! : This is another SongMaker activity, except with a twist!
This time you will be given the HARMONY (chords) and have to add the MELODY and RHYTHM. There will be three choices to choose from: 1) I-II-V-IV Chord Base: https://musiclab.chromeexperiments.com/Song-Maker/song/6678529769996288 2) V-IV-I synthesized Chord Base: https://musiclab.chromeexperiments.com/Song-Maker/song/6378389167407104 3) I-IV-V-I Rock Chord Base: https://musiclab.chromeexperiments.com/Song-Maker/song/4946393551601664 For this activity, You need to add in the Melody ABOVE the chords. See the example I made for what this might look like (mine used Choice 1 above): https://musiclab.chromeexperiments.com/Song-Maker/song/6345637625856000 Take some time to play around with the different Instrumentation for the Melody - this can be found in the Bottom Left hand corner. You can choose from Marimba, Piano, Strings, Woodwinds, or Synthesizer. Remember to listen to it and see if it sounds good to your ears! Keep fiddling with it until it sounds the way you want it:) Then, add in rhythm! Remember there are different sounds for this as well: Electronic, Drum Kit, Congas, or Blocks. Then, as before, Save it, copy the link, and send it to me here:) Week 2 Challenge! If you've already done one of these compositions, try another! And this time make sure you play around with the Instrumentation options on the bottom left corner of Songmaker, as well as the Tempo (speed) in the middle.
Week 1: For this activity you are going to be using Chrome SongMaker. You can click HERE to go to the site to experiment first with this program.
For your Project, you will be taking one of the songs below - I have entered in the basic notes of the melody - and you will add in Harmony and Rhythm. You can also play around with the Instrumentation and Tempo (speed). Please watch this How-To Video to learn how to do this: |
