National Recording of O Canada

Another year has begun, and with it an exciting opportunity for our school and our students! We have been selected to take part in a special commemorative Recording of O Canada, one that is hoping to create a new world record! Only two schools in Kamloops were chosen to take part in this special 50th Anniversary celebration of the Flag of Canada, and we were one of those schools! On October 13th, a special recording crew will be coming to our school to record the voices of our students, which will then be combined with the voices of students from all over Canada to create one massive recording of our National anthem, which will then be delivered to every major library from coast to coast.  More information about this exciting event can be found at: www.flagofcanada.ca

As part of this initiative, we are practicing singing O Canada, and are learning about the history of the flag of Canada and about what makes us Canadian.

You can support your child at home by talking to them about your families history in Canada and what it means to you to be Canadian.
