Students and Parents,
I have made a number of changes to my website, including changing my "Class Links" tab to "Distance Learning - Class Links" for easier access, and adding in set assignments for this week (which will be updated weekly). Students will need to go to their grade grouping's "Activities" page to find this week's assignments:) Intermediate students should go through their Google Classroom first to see the list of the week's assignments options. Please note that none of these assignments MUST be done at any particular time or in any particular order. They will all be up for a while and students can work through them at their own pace. We have a goal of one assignment (from any of the given topics) a week where possible, but if this week is a hard week for your family and you don't even make it to my website, or just look through a few videos, that's ok. If your child is particularly eager and wants to try numerous activities, that is fine too. At this point you do what works for you! Students can continue to send suggestions for activities and videos and songs through my Contact Form. Take care everyone! Mrs. Phillips Hey everyone! Please check out my "Class Links and Resources" tab above for fun activities for all my classes! I've divided it up by grade grouping, so please find the group that is for you!
Hope these first few activities this week can help you relax and have some fun:) More on the way! Mrs. Phillips Hello everyone!
I am so glad to see you all here! As hard as this is for all of us, I'm glad to at least have one way to stay connected to you! I'm going to be posting stuff on here more regularly - lesson plans and fun activities to do at home:) Please stay tuned as I work on getting everything up and running by Monday! In the meantime, check out the "Links" tab above for some fun Music and Art online pages to check out! I'll be adding more there as I find them:) Stay safe! Mrs. Phillips Thank you for visiting my Fine Arts blog!
I am just in the process of updating my Christmas Concert links! Stay tuned for information of your child's performance piece and costume needs. There is no particular theme this year, so costumes will depend on the song being done by the class:) Looking forward to another great concert! Thank you for your patience! Mrs. Phillips Well, the concert is done, we now can all rest
I hope that your holidays are very much blessed:) To one and to all, to all Who are here, A Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year!! Thank you to everyone who helped out in this year's concert, from the small to the big parts! We couldn't have done it without you! It was a very long week for me and I am so thankful for each and every one of you who helped make it a little bit easier! I hope you have a wonderful Winter Break! See you in the New Year!! Mrs. Phillips Hello everyone! Please stay tuned! I am working on the blog this weekend and hope to have all the songs and costumes up for every class by the end of the weekend!!
Please check out the SPECIAL EVENTS tab for information on the Christmas Concert! I will hopefully have everything your child needs to practice at home - lyrics, music with vocals, music without vocals (for getting ready for the concert). There is also a special tab for Costume ideas and for the Grade 6's. Each class will have their own information on their costume requirements. I will also post for any props or costumes we may be needing to borrow for the concert! So please make sure to check back to see if you can help out in any way! Thanks in advance for all your support! I am busy updating the blog and my class Christmas Concert pages! So stay tuned as I will soon have up links to songs the kids are working on as well as costume requests for each class:) As always, if you are able to help out in any way, please let me know at the school! Thanks!
Happy New Year and welcome back! Lots of fun Music and Art learning happening in our Fine Arts classes this term: Check out the "Crazy Hair" art display in the library featuring the artwork of Ms. Steffenson's Grade 5 class. Meanwhile, the African drums are back and starting this week, students will be getting a chance to make some fun rhythms! The primary classes are learning all about beat and rhythm, the grade 3/4 classes are starting recorders in a month (check it out here), and the intermediates are working on a drawing unit in art.
Raffle baskets will be on sale during both the afternoon concert and evening concert. The draws will happen at the end of the evening concert.
There will be a bake sale at the concert as well. Donations of bake good are appreciated and can be dropped off the morning of the 16th. Tickets for the VIP seating and parking are on sale. Tickets are $2.00 each - 1 ticket is equal to 1 entry into the draw. Winning ticket drawn gets to be VIP for the concert with exclusive parking and seating! One draw for each concert.
